Marlie Philp, RTC

Associate Counsellor

Marlie PhilpRegistered Therapeutic Counsellor, Couples Counsellor, Online Tele-Therapist

I'm a Registered Therapeutic Counsellor (RTC #2605) with the Association of Cooperative Counselling Therapists of Canada (ACCT).  A Vancouver couples counsellor who knows how to help when you are struggling in your relationship, I can give you the tools and confidence to revive a sense of deep, authentic connection to yourself and your partner

At my very core, I understand the pain that can arise when you've lost your sense of self and connection to your loved one.  I know from personal experience your relationship can challenge you, help you grow and teach you important lessons, but if not tended to properly, I also know your relationship can cause you immense pain and suffering, disconnection, loneliness, isolation and distrust.

At the core of my approach to your therapy is a belief that within you is the basic desire to feel seen and heard, to ultimately feel validated in your experience.  My priority in your sessions is to build a safe, trusting therapeutic alliance with you as a step toward greater understanding of you and your partner, as well as fostering more open, honest and loving communication.  My skill is in creating safe spaces to explore where the disconnect occurred, to bring gentleness and compassion to these places and begin restoring connection and love.

My experience in the field of Health & Wellness, in my own life, and now as Associate Counsellor at Vida Relationships, has led me to recognize the profound impact our relationships can have on our overall health and happiness. I see how painful shame-based beliefs and a stifled sense of self can often hold us back from being able to fully love and be loved.

Contact me today to explore how together we can transform your relationships, your life and your happiness!

"I believe that each of us has an innate desire to feel seen, heard and felt, to know that we’re not alone, to resonate with other human beings and to feel safe.

I also believe that we all have the ability to function in relationships in healthy and nurturing ways."
