Jennifer Harrison, RTC

Associate Counsellor

Jennifer HarrisonRegistered Therapeutic Counsellor, Individual Counsellor

I'm a Registered Therapeutic Counsellor (RTC #2577) with the Association of Cooperative Counselling Therapists of Canada (ACCT) and a specialist in working with individuals experiencing trauma or anxiety.  I work with individuals, couples and families in Vancouver who are struggling to communicate, are wanting more connection and openness in their relationships, or are simply wanting to learn how to cope with and heal their anxiety.

I understand how your life can be chaotic and how you can feel alone in that, especially if you suffer from anxiety. I will meet you with an open heart and help you feel comfortable and cared for.  I will treat you with compassion when you are feeling tender, and help you see your situation from a gentler viewpoint in order to find your way out of negative thought patterns and anxiety.

My approach to therapy centres around the belief that there are no lost causes.

You have a story that deserves to be heard, and I create a non-judgmental, safe environment in which to tell your story.  I truly love the moments when I see people move through crisis in order to connect with themselves and their loved ones in a meaningful way.

I come from a background in business and have also spent the past 20 years volunteering with children, youth and families, helping them learn skills and find joy in the face of illness and loss.

"The most important thing I have learned working with children, couples and families is that there are many different kinds of relationships and every one of them deserves a chance."

"Working with Jennifer was impactful. I felt comfortable and cared for by her strong and loving presence. She was not shy to challenge me for the sake of my personal growth, and that meant a great deal to me."

"I had the privilege of having Jennifer as a therapist for about 6 months. She is a deeply compassionate therapist who genuinely cares. She met me where I was at every session, and her safe space allowed me to relax into my own process in a really beautifully healing way.  Thank you Jennifer for all the genuine care and attention."
