ABOUT US
Meet Matt Turner
If you’re here, chances are something in your relationship isn’t feeling the way you hoped it would — maybe there’s conflict, and maybe you’re not sure where to turn next or a sense that you’ve lost the connection you once had. I want you to know that you’re not alone, and things really can get better. I’ve had the privilege of helping many couples move from frustration and distance to clarity, connection, and renewed closeness. It doesn’t happen overnight, but it does happen — and I’m here to walk with you through that process.

Being human is hard. Relationships take work. But with the right support, I believe we all have the capacity to grow, heal, and love more deeply. I'm here to help you get there.
"There’s something deeply moving about watching a couple shift from defensiveness to understanding. That kind of change sticks with me."

Guiding couples from conflict to connection.
As a therapist with years of experience supporting couples and individuals, I’ve seen how much pain can come from feeling stuck in arguments that never seem to go anywhere, or from the loneliness that builds when emotional connection fades. I’ve also seen couples begin to hear each other in new ways — to soften, to stay present through hard conversations, to understand that their reactions are often rooted in old pain or fear.
My approach is rooted in trauma recovery and attachment repair. I help people understand what’s really happening underneath the conflict — the nervous system responses, the unmet needs, the protective patterns — and I guide couples in creating new ways of relating that feel safer and more connected. When partners begin to recognize their own patterns and respond to each other with more care and regulation, something shifts. Arguments become more productive. Emotional closeness grows.

Before becoming a therapist, I worked as a teacher and school counsellor, where I saw just how central healthy relationships are to our wellbeing at every age. Now, in my private practice and as Clinical Co-Director at Vida Relationships, I continue that work with deep passion.
Whether you're feeling uncertain, overwhelmed, or just tired of going in circles in your relationship — I'm here to help you slow things down, make sense of what’s happening, and start moving forward with more clarity and compassion.

Why We Do This Work
"Supporting couples through the messiness of disconnection and into a place of repair is a true privilege. I never stop being inspired by the resilience and love that can grow in that space."
